Stupid epiphany of the day.

Dog fighting is called dog fighting because dogs chase each other's tails? or it was slang for a bar fight... Though I have no idea how bar fights have much to do with dogfighting. I forget the etymology... But for some reason or another, planes trying to kill each other is called dog fighting.

Though it would probably make more sense of the people in Taggart's universe called it dragonfighting since in their universe, that was the primary reason for the existence of planes... shooting dragons out of the sky in a manner more efficient than dragging giant anti-dragon cannons everywhere since dragons can change direction in air far more quickly. Though dragons still have better maneuverability than a plane.

But Taggart's plane is based on the Grumman Wildcat and in-story it is called the Lion (dunno the name of the fictional factory that's making planes).

I'm not sure what the Bombers are named yet. And the other fighter planes, seeing as they probably employ more than one type of fighter plane.
