Back in Hong Kong from Malaysia.

Malaysia was okay. I don't like that sort of weather... and got stomach sick again...

Saw fireflies. They looked a lot like LED lights. O_o If they didn't fly around, I probably would have punched the tour guide out for making me pay to see a tree with Christmas lights.

I lied about not doing AC art. I entered the Ubisoft Banner Competition. My banner is on the General Discussion forum.

It's an animated running Santa Ezio.

Saw Bodyguards and Assassins. It's okay. It's a historical movie, but my Chinese history is very hazy. But the set was supposed to be a pretty accurate reproduction of 1905 Hong Kong. The plot is these guys protecting an important resistance leader from assassins sent by the Qing dynasty. Kind of a downer movie since it's about sacrificing for revolution...

Flying to Malaysia tomorrow. Fun fun.

Actually, I've never been so damned if I know.

But I really want to see fireflies. Fireflies always show up in popular media, but I've never seen a real live firefly! D:

I got a 1/72 scale jagdpanther and a keychain panzer (I shall call it mein little tank because Allo Allo is lodged in my brain)... I'm not entirely sure why the tank toys I find are all German... O_o Haven't found any planes on a casual search. I'm lazy. I don't get how to build model kits very well (or as a source of fun).

I got Saif more stuff... he now has a black fur wig with a tuft of white so he can be a punk. Well, Saif has always been a punk in the "lousy teen" sense of the word.

I also got a striped shirt.

I also got a fur wig that looks the same color (give or take a little depending on the lighting conditions) as Charlie's hair for no apparent reason... It makes Saif look kind of strange and kind of hot?

I got glass eyes for Muniya. Saif is stealing them right now. He looks a lot more awake with 12mm eyes than 14mm.



Ever feel paranoid about how your characters come across?

I always worry about whether or not Charlie is a Gary Stu or not... Well, he's not perfect, but he gets away with crazy amounts of shit since I'm easily amused by crazy shit if what I focus on when learning trivia shows anything.

And Epifanio... oi... moody teenage vampire...

he has a grudge against the world for a questionably good reason. I don't know enough terminally ill people and most commercials about this sort of thing only feature the very optimistic ones...

Well, Epifan hasn't got any people skills anyway. Getting angry saves time. I'm a cynical person, you probably won't love 90% of the people you meet.

Well, I have internets now.

I got sick for the first time in Hong Kong. =_=' Not swine flu... just... I don't know... stomach ache.

I have a picture idea. I want to draw Charlie & co. all realistic-like.

So now I'm hunting for pictures of dudes who look like Charlie, Clive, Aiden, and (and ladette) Jovie. Or wondering about what actor would play them in a live-action situation (doesn't help that I'm the person who consistently shouts "UNKNOWN ACTOR THAT LOOKS PECULIARLY LIKE THE CHARACTER" when asked these sorts of questions rather than trying to think of what actors I know.)

Though Kaxen-Land tends to overlap with No-Discernable-Race-Land...

Though Charlie is supposed to be Scottish or was at some point. Whatever he is, he's meant to be red-headed with a giant mouth and pretty big eyes. Well, his eyes aren't as big as Aiden's, but he seems to be wide-eyed a lot when I doodle him. Charlie doesn't seem to sleep, but not in a "I wanna sleep, but can't" sort of way. He just functions on very little sleep... his mother really does have the temper of Buddha.

Aiden is definitely not the age he is labelled. xD He doesn't look quite like an 18-year-old... especially since his eyes have gotten progressively bigger as I drew him. Ironically, Aiden is probably the last person who would ever lie about his age to get into the armed forces.

Clive has saggy eyes, a hooked nose, and big cheek-bones. >_> He probably has the most deviation from a Kaxen-Land Generic Face. Clive isn't too much older than the rest of the gang, but he looks the oldest. He's the most lean and gaunt.

Jovie is a bit of a bifauxnen. Her head can pass for a bishonen in Kaxen-Land (no one really confuses her for male because she does have a woman's body.). ...female who passes for a hot guy... xD Sounds like every good bishonen cosplay... ((Seriously, I can't think of that many good bishonen cosplays I've seen done by actual men... unless I've managed to confuse the men in with the women? O_o))

I've going on a trip to Asia. (Hong Kong, Mainland China, and Malaysia) and won't be back until January 2nd.

I will probably not be online much.

It occurs to me that Military Decorations in Under One Sky have no names.

...though I'm highly tempted to invent "The Medal of Awesome" Lord only knows what the criterion would be... Though India's Param Vir Chakra is only given for "rarest of the rare gallantry which is beyond the call of duty and which in normal life is considered impossible to do." O_o

And there's medals that have been awarded on recommendation of the enemy. You know you've kicked ass when even the enemy thinks you deserve a medal.

One gag comic mentions that they needed to invent a new medal because Charlie jumped out of a plane wearing a kilt and stabbed a dragon or some such... Not sure if it's true.

I've yet to draw Charlie in a kilt. I'm not sure what pattern his family would use. *not sure how willy-nilly one is allowed to use a tartan*


Anyway...
